Crafts etc

OKay so I had cliff cut me some 5 by 6 -ish squares of wood. Then i sanded them all and gave them a double coat, on all sides, of chalk board paint. The wood is thick so they will stand up with no help. They will be used to let people know what kind of food and such is in steno's etc for big parties.

Chalk board paint is cheap and goes a longggggg way so if you like to write with chalk, go out and get some ;] . Funnn!! (just do not run your nails along it,ughhhhhh, I hate that!!! :{ )

PS You can tack a pretty ribbon or a flower etc to the top for decoration .

This simple box was a soap mold cliff made me. I painted it red and put mason jars inside to hold forks spoons etc. ALso can be decorated with raffia around the jar tops ,flowers in between the jars etc. It looks very rustic cool if you just leave it a wood color or stain it to!

While I was doing the above Anna has been making a poster for her room. This girl is good!!!!! Its all characters she loves and my fav is the red haired woman. Magical!!

And then we have Ludwig. Cats are sooooo lazy! They remind me of older teenagers. They flip out like hypo nut jobs for a bit, causing havoc and then crash for hours, ;] .

Doesn't it happen like that? I mean, isn't your entire life proof?

I think today I will make a small prayer area in my yard. A pretty altar so to speak. Maybe God and all good in the universe hears us better out in nature????? Worth a shot ;] !

Great Weekend!

It really was a great weekend!!! Did some grilling, some special outings with the kids, 

Really enjoyed seeing some of my flowers wake up and bloom. I am finding I am definitely more a flower gardener at heart. Veggies kick my butt ;] .

This hydrangea was a stick a few years back. Its gorgeous now. The color is way better then pic shows.

Hello Mr bachelor button. My first bloom in the big wild flower garden. 

I made sure the dogs didn't stomp these guys to death this year. :}

Hmmmm, I know the big wildflower garden will get better with the passing years but I'm thinking I'll throw some other more substantial perennials in the mix to make it look less weedy . I am also going to make a circle in the middle. I'll put some type of statue or birdbath there to pump things up.

Hello psycho, Gimme a kiss ! I was out on the deck in the drizzle with cliff having a few beers. We ended up staying out there chatting for well over an hour. I loved it!!

I was cracking up! He said its the first time he ever put his pants on backwards. I however have done it a few times ;].

I did some crafts over the weekend . Rustic party decor and today I think I'm getting out of the house with the monsters for some quality time together. Tonight I'm cooking up some tacos and nachos, yummm!!!

SEWING

I Inherited Ma Deans sewing machine a while back and I dug it out of the closet yesterday. Its a great little machine although, Anna said its behind the times. (her home class at school has easy peasy machines  :] )

I have a few tops I got from the thrift store  but they were about a size to big. Nothing ever fits me right and my Aunt Pat said she just alters her own clothes to fit so, I decided to try the same. So far so good!!!

The above top I took in from the length of the sides and now its comfy and cute!! $1.50 :}

This one was to long and big on side of boobs. Now, It fits perfect! This stitching on the top was already white so I did a cute zig zag stitch at the bottom. $ 1.50 :}

I am notttt a master sewer but I can handle this simple stuff. I would love to get better and create my own tops. Anyone ever work with patterns??? I want to try veryyyy simple ones. Everything at the stores is tight on my bust football shoulders area if the length fits and to big all around on the next size up, ughhh!

QUITE the pillow aye. It was a bed spread my gram gave me years ago. Cliff wasn't gonna go for it on our bed so I painfully cut it up (hoping gram wasn't gonna strike me with lightening from heaven) and turned it into a pillow. Now I can enjoy it and think of grandma instead of just stuffing it in the closet somewhere :}! If you have precious family fabrics that don't exactly work in your house maybe transform it into something you can actually enjoy on a daily. You could make a pretty quilt if you have lots of handed down blanket or fabrics etc.,pillow cases, actual pillows, stuffed animals,maybe frame a piece etc.

Every time I look at this pillow I am sent back in time when Me and my grandmother were in her bedroom together. She was showing me some of her things and when She saw I loved the print on the above bedspread her eyes lit up to find a kindred spirit. She passed it on to me with love. Cutting it up was hard but When you start losing your loved ones to heaven you don't want all their past down treasures stuffed in draws and boxes,you want to enjoy them and think of them. I'll be working on some other similar projects soon :].

 Time to get moving for me now.

Brother and Sister

 Early afternoon I sat on the deck with the kids (they had just woken up :/  ) and the three of us enjoyed the gorgeous day. I had just mowed the lawn so everything looked fresh and pretty. Then the inevitable happened. MOM, can we go get star bucks and maybe some guacamole. Its alwaysss a matter of time before they hit me up for something. So....off to king kullen and star bucks we went.

Hello boys. All my animals know when another animal in the house is getting attention. They come running for their share :}.

God my floors look like hell!! The left is just two by fours heading to the basement but the other leads to the living room. The whole house needs some refinishing, blahhhhh!

Over all we all had a good day! The kids spent quite a bit of quality time together which made me happy and I got the lawn and some writing done.

Its going to get way cooler starting tomorrow so if you want some warm sun you need to enjoy it today.

OHHH, I did not 1 , not 2 or 3 but FOUR of those crazy plank slide your feet in thingys yesterday! Holy Crap!! My belly is a good sore this morning!!! I think I am on to something here?? Will I get my abs back at in my late forties :O ?????

 See the side pink, red and light blue muscles in this above pic. Well that's our corset of muscles. They squeeze all that middle in and keep things nice and tight and shapely.

According to this article, sit-ups and crunches are crap!

I tried the top exercise in the above pic and let me just sayyyyyyy, I neverrrrrr felt anything like this in my belly before, everrrr !!!! Its superrrrr hard but completely rocks the belly muscles!!! I sadly could only do 3 without falling on my face buttttt I will keep trying to do more and more.

As I'm losing weight, I'm finding flab and it isn't  making me happy! I'm trying to work on sculpting some tired old muscles. Mainly,the upper arms, duhhh, The belly,Double duhhh and the NEW ick spot on me, my upper outer thighs and inner,grrrrrrr!!! Its like my skin is saying,"Sorry but I'm tired and gonna start sagging now". I'm fighting this shit till the death!!! "Skin, you stay tight or or or......???? WAHHHH!!!

Sorry about the skin breakdown :{ . 

I am having some aging issues,..shocker! But... On a whole I am grateful for my body and will now try to treat it with some tenderness and respect! It held up well thus far so now I will try and help it stay strong!! We all have to go through constant aging changes but we do not have to take it lying down, right!!!

Speaking of which, I am buying hair color this week. My sweet lying husband says he thinks grays are sexy but the more these poky annoying white things pop out of my head, the more I want to scream, :]. I do not think they are sexy at 46 and They are going bye bye till I'm at least....oh say,58-ish.(maybe?)

Hey, I'm ranting so much about aging that I forgot to tell you about the pretty pic above,lol. I didn't take the pic but that's what the sky looked like after the storm last night at sunset. Beautiful!!! Oh and I got that hail but I think my plants made it ,phewww!! It was about the size of a dime and lasted about 2 minutes. I gotta say it looked real cool coming down.

Sunday

I cut some flowers for the table. I got some flowers from my privet hedge in there. They smell soooo good. Kind of like honey suckle :] .

Made the good sauce and cliffs sauce ;] .

Rex watched me cook and

kept a watch for crazy squirrels.

Got this stuff from amazon for his rash and so far its working grrreat,yippeee!

Time to chow. It was GOOD!

This pretty cardinal loves to sit on my arbor. When ever I catch him there I try to take a pic of him but.. they always come out like poop or he flies away right before I click, grrr!

What a day out there today (monday)!
