SCONES \ BISCUIT = LOTSA MANGIA-ING;]

This is a great recipe for scones \biscuits.Real easy and yummy.Makes about 11 if 2" size preheat oven 400 grease baking sheet or use non stick foil(great stuff!!) 1 3/4 cups all purp flour 31/2 teaspoons baking powder 1/4 cup white sugar(half this for more biscuit style) 1\8 teaspoon salt 5 tablespoons butter 1\2 cup milk 1/4 cup sour cream (for egg wash below) 1 egg 1 tablespoon milk sift together all dry ingred into big bowl ( i used my strainer dodad below when i couldnt find my real sifter) cut in cold butter with pastry blender or your fingers if you dont have one(better with though) till pea size lumps put in any fruits or nuts now if ya want(about 1/2 cup or so) mix together milk and sour cream(looks icky) pour into dry ingred and mix gently just till all dry ingred become moist, like 30 seconds(dont over mix or they will turn out yuk!) flour your hands well and make 2-3 inch balls (however big ya want).dont press and squish it in your hands to much.make em " bing bang boom " and put on the baking sheet gently pressing down tops a bit have the scones just barely touchin eachother on the baking sheet beat together egg and tblsp milk brush tops of scones with the egg wash(if want them on the sweet side you can sprinkle sugar on top after egg wash) let them rest for about 10 minutes or so bake 10 to 15 minutes till just golden on tops(not to dark or to light, lol) serve with butter, jams, whipped cream ,devenshire cream which is awesome!!!(dev cream is 3/4 stick cream cheese with 1 pint heavy cream and a couple tblsp of sugar whipped together with beater till thick and creamy.LUVVV IT!!!! I use smuckers seedless rasperry jam with dev cream. You'll die and go to heaven;]
Gently cut them appart.(they almost just peel appart) They are very soft when first baked. For a firmer scone you can let them sit out over night uncovered. Hope you all try this. Its easy ,fast and yummy!! Have a heavenly day;]!!
