When I pick up the stone, it sends a message to me. I can still feel my loved one. I can still touch and be touched by him/her. I can still feel the impact that has been made on my life. Their life, love, teachings, values, and morals still make an impression on me. When I put the stone down, it is a reminder to me that I can no longer take this person with me physically. I can only take him/her with me in my heart and my mind and the actions I do because he/she taught me to do them. Their values, morals, ideals live on and continue to impress me - just as the stone has made an impression on my hands - so too their life has made an impression on me that continues."
GOOD RIGHT :} !
POP ORDERED GAWUPKIES FOR DINNER THIS SUNDAY(STUFFED CABBAGE)
SO I SEARCHED FOR SOME TIPS TO MAKE MINE BETTER OR JUST EASIER.
ONE WAS TO CORE AND PEAL CABBAGE ,TAKING LARGE LEAFS OFF AND BLANCHING THEM IN BOILING SALTED WATER FOR 5 MINUTES EACH. STRAIN AND COOL OFF. I USED TO THROW THE WHOLE HEAD IN THE POT AND ID HAVE TROUBLE WITH LEAFS BREAKING ETC SO I WILL TRY THIS!
ILL SHOW YA OTHER TIPS LATER INCLUDING HOW THESE WILL COME OUT COOKING THEM ON THE STOVE TOP INSTEAD OF BAKING (OVENS STILL SCREWED UP ,GRRR).
HOPE THEY COME OUT GOOD :} !!

Love stuffed cabbage, but tough suckers to roll! Good luck and enjoy :-)
ReplyDeleteAbout the stones ... never researched. Someone once told me it had something to do with the Jewish faith. Did you come across anything like that?
ReplyDeleteyes it started as a jewish thing. they used to cover their dead with stones wayyy back in the day and they don't do it anymore so now the stone are kinda symbolic of those days and helping in the process to lay them to rest. also supposed to keep spirit from haunting .that's one of the superstitions I read :]
DeleteLove the stuffed cabbage, not a fan of the tangy, sweet sauce.. I'd like a sauce more mellow!! Let me know if you think the same!!
ReplyDeleteNanny
same here! I make a mild fresh tomato sauce for mine and add a good quality tomato paste to the chopmeat rice mix.yummm!
