CAST IRON


POP BROUGHT ME THIS BIG, HIGH SIDED, AWESOME OLD CAST IRON FRYING PAN. SAYS MADE IN THE USA ON THE BOTTOM :}. IT WAS IN BAD SHAPE! HE SCRUBBED IT WITH STEEL WOOL ETC AND I OILED IT WITH CANOLA OIL (ANY OIL WILL DO) ALL OVER (BOTTOM AND HANDLES TOO). I PUT IT IN THE OVEN SET AT 350 ON TOP SHELF, UPSIDE DOWN WITH A SHEET OF TIN FOIL AT THE BOTTOM SHELF TO CATCH ANY DRIPPINGS. IT BAKED FOR A GOOD 30-40 MINUTES AND THEN I LET IT COOL A BIT AND WIPED DOWN THE PAN WITH SOME MORE OIL TO SEE IF ANY MORE RUST WAS COMING OFF AND IT WASNT :}. 
SOME PEOPLE DONT WASH THEIR CAST IRON BUT THAT FREAKS ME OUT SO I ALWAYS GIVE IT A QUICK (NO SOAP) SCRUB AND QUICK QUICK RINSE WITH HOT WATER AND THEN TOWEL DRY IT OFF RIGHT AWAY. THEN I RUB IN A BIT MORE OIL TO THE COOKING AREA.
 NEVERRRRRRR LET IT SIT IN WATER OR STAY WET!!!!! RUST WILL RUN RAMPID!!

ITS DIRTY IN PIC CAUSE BILL JUST GOT DONE MAKING HASH BROWNS. HE'S CHOPPING SOME BROCCOLI HERE FOR A BREAKFAST STIR FRY.

HE IS A BREAKFAST BOY AS YOU CAN SEE ABOVE,LOL. THE FEAST EVEN GOT ANNA OUT OF BED BEFORE 12 :o.


I JUST HAD ONE HASH BROWN ON TOP OF A COUPLE EGG YOLKS (WHITES MAKE ME NAUSEOUS.DON'T KNOW WHY???) I'M TRYING TO EAT A SMALL BREAKFAST AND THEN HOLD OFF TILL LUNCH BEFORE I EAT ANYTHING ELSE. I STRUGGLE WITH TRYING NOT TO EAT TO MUCH FOOD LATELY, GRRR. 


THE BELOW LIST IS ONE WE ALL KNOW BUT A GOOD REMINDER OF SOME CRAP WE CAN GET RID OF. GETTING RID OF OLD STUFF WE DON'T NEED OR USE FEELS REALLY GOOD!!!


I THINK ILL HIT UP MY SPICES AND LINEN CLOSET TODAY :}.
